PRATICA
Come autore realizzo progetti fotografici personali e sono stato chiamato a collaborare con istituzioni pubbliche come la Triennale di Milano, il Museo Casabianca di Malo (VI), il Dipartimento delle Famiglie di Vicenza, Dipartimento di Cultura di Schio (VI) e con alcuni artisti.
Sia in Italia sia all’estero ho tenuto varie esposizioni personali e collettive e alcuni progetti e immagini sono stati selezionati in premi e concorsi.
Seguo il processo creativo dei miei lavori in tutte le sue fasi non solo dall’ideazione alla realizzazione ma anche la stampa che, ad accezione di formati molto grandi, eseguo personalmente con materiali e metodologie fine art. In alcuni casi procedo anche all’assemblaggio e montaggio delle stampe e, come ad oggi è stato per il progetto “Uncut” tramite fuoco e agenti ossidanti, anche alla trasformazione manuale dei pannelli contribuendo in questo modo a dare un valore aggiunto alle immagini.
Le opere sono disponibili in vari formati, posso fornire la sola stampa o il lavoro già montato.
Nelle esposizioni il più delle volte non mi limito alla semplice affissione delle opere ma cerco di far interagire queste con lo spazio ospitante, creando spesso installazioni ad hoc.
Non ho uno stile e averne uno non è il principale dei miei interessi, forse la mancanza di uno stile è la mia caratteristica di “stile”, inteso come unitarietà di mezzi e linguaggio visuale dai confini delimitati.
Sono aperto a proposte per:
– mostre collettive e personali
– fotografie su commissione se con piena libertà interpretativa ma disposto ad anticipare bozza o progetto
– coinvolgimento in progetti tematici, editoriali, progetti no-profit, sul territorio, campagne di sensibilizzazione, in cui si voglia una mia interpretazione visiva o disponibilità di opere già realizzate

TEORIA
Nei vari progetti all’attivo il mio metodo di lavoro è generalmente seriale.
In parallelo più di recente, ho trovato una sfida creativa condensare un’intuizione in un’ immagine dove far convergere elementi che possano aprirsi a più significati e letture diverse.
In questi racconti per immagini i soggetti rappresentati appartengono spesso ad un luogo.
Questo spazio ad oggi è stato più o meno circoscritto, sinonimo di un’area geografica come la città di Milano, di un’area fisica come il corpo umano, luoghi della memoria storica, pochi metri quadrati familiari, boschi impervi.
Non sono interessato alla sola rappresentazione dei soggetti e dei contesti, né alla loro sola natura estetica, ma più ai temi che legano le immagini ovvero gli intenti della mia poetica che provo a comunicare.

Temi:
Per quanto sia schematico e riduttivo un elenco, riporto alcune delle tematiche ricorrenti nella mia ricerca:
l’identità, in diverse accezioni: individuale, collettiva, biologica, nazionale, multiforme e relativa se circoscritta al solo volto.
Uguaglianza-diversità. Mi interessa e mi affascina ciò che ci rende simili, uguali, cercare l’unità nella diversità.
L’approcio di analisi di questo rapporto tra sé e ciò che ci circonda è di non dualità, aspetto che sto approfondendo e sviluppando.
L’impermanenza che lega tutti gli esseri viventi, l’intrinseca fragilità della continua trasformazione che se accettata rivela solo bellezza.
L’ambiguità delle apparenze. Cosa definisce qualcosa è relativo. A seconda delle coordinate spazio-tempo-luce proprie del linguaggio fotografico tutto può sembrare altro da sé.
Il mistero che emerge tanto più un fatto o un soggetto vengono resi fedelmente.
Soggetti:
L’ordinario; quasi sempre parto da ciò che è più vicino, guardo l’effimera essenza di ciò che ci circonda magari trascurato, ritenuto imperfetto, talvolta brutto, ma capace di affascinare solo uno sguardo senza giudizi.
Presenze vegetali sono protagoniste di tre progetti, svelate in contesti ordinari, evocatrici di bellezza non scontata e affetti non recisi, di resilienza in rapporto con l’ambiente umano, ricche di mistero nell’inganno delle apparenze.
La figura umana, la persona quanto più essenzialmente è libera da ogni etichetta legata al ruolo, lo status, l’appartenenza ad alcuna categoria di matrice solamente umana

Leonardo Onetti Muda
Graduated in Photography at I.E.D. (European Institute of Design) Milano with Edward Rozzo as director. He started to work on his own in 1994, after twenty years in Milan he is currently based in the province of Vicenza.
He carried out different personal projects, in this website you find mainly those completed ones, exhibited, published and some single works.
Among the various, “Trenta” (“Thirty” portraits of thirty artists and their works of the province of Vicenza) became a book.
Even though the projects are very different from each other for the chosen subjects, they share some basic themes: the focus on the transformation, the impermanence, the cyclicity, the ambiguity and mystery of appearances.
The urban landscape of Milan in “In corso” project is caught in its transformation through road works photos taken at night, in “Urban Nature” the subject is the temporary and wild urban flora. “Il paese dei balocchi” is the title of the series where the playgrounds are painted with light to emphasize their alienating and surreal presence, in “Uncut” cut flowers are caught in that “between” the shiny bloom and the rot.
The search for similarity in diversity and, on the other hand, the uniqueness in the similarity of the human being is the first theme in “In the shadow of the eye” (18 self-pictures under the microscope) then in the more recent “I_like_you”.
The concept and production of all projects are made by Leonardo Onetti Muda on his own but has been asked to collaborate with public institutions such as the Triennale of Milan, the Casabianca Museum of Malo (VI), the the Family’s Department of Vicenza, Department of Culture of Schio (VI).
There are numerous exhibitions both personal and collective in Italy and abroad and some projects and images are have been selected in several awards and competitions.

The work on the theme of “similarity-diversity” is still ongoing, but this time in the animal world.
Currently Leonardo Onetti Muda is also working on “Faunus” where the subjects are trunks and roots in the wildest parts of the woods, an homage to both the free spirit in strong relationship with nature embodied by the classic myth that gives the title of this series, and to “The Secret of the Old Wood” by the beloved writer Dino Buzzati and the “Walden” by Henry David Thoureau.
On the other hand, he has started a new “inhabited” landscape project in which the author tries to make, with the modalities of representation, complexity and variety in a harmonious symbiosis.
At the same time he is working on single works on symbols and archetypal forms, not images as documents of the outside world but an attempt to make visual values and search for meanings coming from the hidden sphere of the Self.
Leonardo Onetti Muda has also worked and is available for collaborations with artists: for photographic reproductions of their works, to work on a lay out provided by the artist himself or to participate in the creation of artworks.
